I had a studio Veg Out Community Garden in St Kilda for three years.
The site on which Veg
Out stands was a wetland prior to colonisation, where the Boon Wurrung People
of the Kulin Nation lived and cared for this area according to the rhythms of
the seasons. The absence of this culture haunted me throughout my time at Veg
Out.
The publication The Mapping Project is an archive of the major projects undertaken during my time at Veg Out.
The two distinct layers of Twilight Mapping, The Map of
Veg Out and the Microcosm of Wetlands were
hung in such a way that people could walk between and around them, facilitating
an experience of entering an imaginary space between the gardens and the wetlands
that pre-existed them. The publication The Mapping Project is an archive of the major projects undertaken during my time at Veg Out.
